Number one rule should be that if you can sell you work sell it. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. You deserve to reap the rewards of your talent.
I collect very rare records. I'm not happy when they re-issue them but the other end of this is that someone else got to benefit.
GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!
In the end you decide.
i would, of course. the show was way back in september. but i dunno the legistics of stuff like reprinting. or if im just going to piss people off, which i dont want to do. but an equal number of people want copies. pickle.
i honestly would like to reprint these if that would be "cool" with everyone. i honestly didnt even have enough to give out to my friends after the 'incident'. the first run were all printed on illustration board, of all things, so there would definatly be a difference. i could prolly take off the bts 15/03. i dunno, i dunno the rules on these things, so im not going to do anything thats going to give me a bad name.
This is so brilliant. Just read this whole thread. No. 1 this kid is so fucking talented and ambitious. No. 2 if there was no numbered edition eveything prior is an AP (Artists Proof). Print away or just move on to a new piece. With your talent I'd rather just see more work. Sorry to hear about the water damage. Keep it up, you rule.
to me that's fine to reprint... as long as you never edit/nuber the first print... people who buy it buy a limited printed, they support you by buying you something, they deserve respect...
btw, you guy does cool stuff, people will buy the new ones, don't look back
Who has the rule book? Can someone get me a copy? If you reprint label in very small print that it is a reprint. Or do what I do which is use a completly different printing method, change the size, alter some colors etc.
i wish i could make more of these, i had alot more but a huge pile got waterdamaged. which i was really bummed about, it being my first personally hand screened poster. i dunno what the rules on that one are though, heh, so prolly not.
it would be too bad if someone named Ann Anger was to bootleg my posters. oh my! hahah.
the blues turned out darker than i wanted on the final prints, but its still within reason. my only big problem with my voyage into posterscreening was registration. alot of the ones i did came out pretty badly because my screens werent tight enough and they pulled. so im not sure how many im going to have left to sell (that are sellable) but hopefully anyone who wants one can get one that im proud of.
and this is golden.
im taking a Personal Focus II studio class this semester, where i get to personally focus on whatever i want, and im going to focus an entire quarter to doing posters for credit. bitchin,
thanks everyone for the kind words!
I missed when this came up...
This poster is killing!
you fixed that i/e thing, the colors rule, the image is nice and loose (which is a little different from your style from what i remember).
Very nice job...and i am stoked you went out and got yourself some screens and printed these out yourself...i have nothing but respect for you DD.
