all this audioslave stuff from made me pull out this poster again from my pile of doom
i made the executive decision to frame it and give it a well deserved spot at the casa
jermaine's best poster ever
jermaine - word. Me and Dooly jacked with florecents, green and orange one time. Made some shit that vibrated so much it gave me a headache. Dolly was scared to do it. Had to hold a gun to his head to make him comply.
Actually, I ALMOST did use orange for the background...ALMOST. Here was the problem: the poster became so psychadelic it didnt 'fit' the vibe I was going for. The orange compliments the blue...so that action was going on. The poppy red (yes, your monitor is crappy) compliments the blue also. That blue and red combo worked in a lot of retro-psych Fillmore posters from the early 90s. Anyway, all 3 together...and the thing was falling off the page. If it was 1969 and Neil was 22 years old...then yea, I go for it.
But hes mellowed out, as has the music. I wanted the image and colors to convey somewhat of a psychadelic sense...but also to appeal to the crowd for which it was made...and be a comfortable 'living room/ den' type piece.
So Im fine with it, boss...
But boy, you shouldve seen that orange. I ALMOST did it.
the drawing and text are fine, the red and blue are fine but the background color "light Blue" is a piss poor choice. Should have done orange or green to create more vibrancy. That lt. blue kills the poster for me.
