Raindog: I just looked for it on the web and can't find it. My buddy has a crapload of pictures of her and I just used one of his. If you want to know what she looks like, look at Print Mafia's Hangdogs poster.
zelig* definetely know what your talking about with the 'funky knees'. i've looked at that photo a thousand times and thought " mabey?........no". glad you got it right. also i just found out that my last roller girls poster is being printed by krusty color. stoked to hear that they have your approval.
Scrojo, my buddy just got that tatoo of Candy Barr with the wagon wheel and everything. I tried staying true to her body, but her knees were f'd up.
WithRemote, yes, these will be for sale after the show.
there is nothing NOT to love about this poster. the concept, execution, illustration, color....blah blah blah.....perfection!!!! i think one of the things i dig most about it is the pose. i know it's based off an old candye barr photo but in the original she looks a little ridiculuse.....not any more!
Before I forget, I must give props to Wade at Krusty Kolor for really outdoing himself with printing these. He really caught more detail than I could imagine in some of the smaller images like the bottle of Gordon's or the little pics of Chet Atkins and Merle Travis at the bottom left.
I saw this a few days ago in person. Damn impressive!! I really like these collage background images you've been using on the last couple of posters. Goes perfectly with your illos, which are top notch. You're going to do really well at Flatstock 3. I hope my booth is next to yours again so I can maybe take some of your residuals.
Thank you for the comments. I exchanged some messages with Clay, and it appears my problem is that my images are not compressed enough before I upload them and this accounts for the color change. I will have this corrected before my next submission.
i would have to agree with max on his earlier comment...mistah jones constantly puts out images that make me take a triple take.....i want one of these..
when i look at this online i dont think it looks that great, but when you see the reall poster its fucking amazing. This is one of the coolest posters ive seen.
I think thsat there is a good chance that Mr Rob Jones is the best poster artist working today. The best illos and the best design all in one.
So good it makes me want to punchmyself in the face.
17" X 32" 5 color screened print. This jpeg is way too light. I don't know what happens to the image when it gets sent up to the site, but somehow it gets hella desaturated.
