this thing is peering over my shoulder as i'm on the computer. andy gave it to my roommate for putting up with him and vinnie crashing in our living room.
again, it was our pleasure.
i think this poster is a success because the halftones trick you into thinking there's a hidden picture or something, so it pulls you in and makes you study it longer than your average poster. color choice is on point, too.
octopus? what the fuck? i still REALLY love this one, i think im going to get my copy framed.... this is one of my top ten overall favriotes in my collection.
What I like most about this, is that at some point you decided "yeah, let's go with the dots..." Makes a really good-looking and interesting poster. See how everyone wants to figure out what the dots mean...!? (It's a slow lorus, right?)
I really want to read something into this one I keep looking at it hoping that I see something..... it kind of looks like the famous photo of bigfoot walking in the forest.... does anyone else see that?
does this work for the bands style of music? I'm sure it looks really cool in person but this is one of those posters that would piss me off if I was a band that had commissioned work. But maybe it works for them, in which case, bravo.
If there is indeed a poster universe, this is on the opposite end from a promo band photo with stretched Impact on it.
So has anyone heard? Was The Gossip offended by this blatant racist imagery or what?
I cant tell what the image is if there really is one... but thats some super sweet halftoneing. man half tones rock, and this thing just jumps off the page. i like it!
