8ball, I apologize for any confusion. The post appearing to be made by l stalions was in fact made by me. We use the same computer. Therefore, I accidentally posted not knowing it was logged in under l stalions.
well, still thinking my theory is correct...i will say i believe that the line indicating the edge of the monster's mouth crops it enough in comparison with the other letters, thats all. Guess its all a matter of opinion, eh?
Richie and 8ball, it seems to me that the letters in question are cropped the way they are simply because the lines making up parts of the monster's mouth would be overlapping certain parts of the letters. Those letters represent the monster's teeth. If a person's mouth is open, baring the teeth...not every part of every tooth showing is going to be visible, correct? This is just my viewpoint, I could be wrong....but then again, probably not. :D
There's a lot of things about this poster that easily got my attention and clicked right on with a lot of my biggest interests. Aside from promoting two GREAT bands (not to mention the fact that Tomahawk's Mike Patton once fronted my #1 favorite band), it also has a cool "50's monster movie" vibe, which is another thing I'm quite fond of. So, as far as subject matter: 2 thumbs up! And I'd give more if I had 'em! Detail and simplicity are balanced nicely as to make it not too busy nor too basic. The choice of colors, particularly the beige, turqouise and red, goes really well together and is a large part of what drew my attention to this poster in the first place. Great work!!!!
I love most everything aout this poster but I've been holding my tongue on one thing. OK 2 things.
The T and the K on Tomahawk. Everything else is so perfect and those two letters are so sloppy.
Though I am an ass and know too much and can spot the workings f the envelope feature of AI 10...so ignore me.
I just wish that T had a straight vertical line on the top line and the K had it's top slant extended.
:o :o :o
OH YEAH!
My last couple posters were designed big like this so you'd want to cross the street to see it.
I'd cross the city to see this thing.
Great stuff!
