I was on Billy Zoom's site doing a little "research" and I didn't know he was a practicing christian...so this poster makes it even more of a classic...
John Doe & Billy Zoom, but no Exene or D.J. I'll have to try & get those at a later date. Got some great up-close pics with my new digital toy. The posters sold out.
Just in case anyone misconstrues my comments earlier about the printer, my pals at Krusty Kolor would have printed this had they not been so popular & busy printing Rob Jones' great stuff & others. I gave big props to Gilbert because he came thru for me in a pinch & did a fabulous job.
Wade & Lee at KK have kicked ass on all my recent stuff & have done more favors for me than I can count. No dis intended- Krusty is the bomb.
i'm sure it won't be your last POW.
crave is speed, right?
that speed guy hates me cause i called him a cripple.
i didn't even know he WAS crippled. it was just a lucky guess. this crave dude seems kinda sad. i feel bad for him. i bet he's not even married. poor little guy. he needs us right now. get me his address, i want to send him something...from all of us.
i'm just fucking with ya, brian drew this for perkins cause billy couldn't get it done in time. it was a favor.
it's been kind of a running joke around here.
...color me ignorant but.....why are we comparing this to ewing?
...apples to oranges.....and all the other funky fruits found on this site.
just curious.
HOLY SHIT!!! Somebody up there likes me! (Up there in Canada I mean).
Peveto- I was sick all week & running late on gettting these done, so the small versions you saw were output from a low-res JPEG I had sent Graham. They definitely do not do the final piece justice. Krusty was supposed to print them, but at the last minute, there were some mechanical problems at their shop that prevented them from being able to do it. Richard Gilbert, who printed my Music Awards & KGSR posters screened these. In my opinion, possibly the best printer in town. These were some fine-ass halftones & he got every one.
Wow, this is really cool. Thanks for all the positive comments.
Bring the wife & kids!!
I dunno Borracho...There was some strange shit happening at the Donnas show right in front of the stage. Picture this: Crowded as fuck, so much that I could barely put my arms down. When I tried, they got pinned there, but...I could feel bare skin from the young girl right in front of me. Further inspection revealed her skirt was pulled up around her ribs, & she evidently preferred it there. Touchy feely free love all over the place. I still love Emo's.
Thanks all, I'm a huge fan of the band (with Billy Zoom) & begged to do this one. I also saw one that Brian Curley had done, so I guess there are 3 for this show.
Started out with a red background, but you couldn't make out any of the scene that I spent hours drawing, so I lightened it to yellow. 15 x 25 final size.
Ewing, I haven't seen yours yet, but I love your stuff if you're interested in a trade.
