bolton* you could be right but....
for the most part, from the mid-late 80s the 'whiskey' was a 'big-hair' venue. 'la guns' 'hollywood roses'.....you do the math.
if we are talking the same 'verbal abuse' (jersey boys) their van broke down on the beaches of encinitas on their first west coast tour in '85.
god damn the pusher man!....
this poster is fascinating on too many levels. i'm beyond curious what year this show was.
what i can see:
*'crime' rip-off: that's obvious. but...if it happened early enough in the 80s atleast it was someone who had some knowledge of what was happening in san francisco. i'm not defendending a blatent theft.....it's just a historical curiousity. the 'punk' scene was so minute then they might have had approval to 'use' the image. dunno.
definetely 'early' 80s: iggy ( pre-sober???) social distortion ( pre-skeleton hand drawn logo. 'prison bound'? not 'mommy's little monsters' or 'another state of mind'?)....then the 'kroq' logo (pre-cones) says alot.
my take: this is one of the first 'mainstream' punk flyers in los angeles.
