this was the most beautiful poster i saw at flatstock all weekend. must be seen to be believed. i can't believe i didn't buy one. the overprinting with the matallic ink is perfectly handled. me jealous.
Hmmm. I thought about using a nice clean font but it looked way to clean. Using some sort of 'pan-asian' inspired font would be too much and I kinda liked the raw feel of this text. As a result, I ended up tearing the frame off the frame on the film and going with a ragged color field as well.
I haven't quite figured out how to photograph metallic inks yet. The grey and blue are all overprinted with gun-metal.
for some reason that type is bothering me. I don't know if it is supposed to purposefully contrast the clean lines of japanese design and illustration, but if it is, it seems like it's too much of a contrast.
I really love the colors though.
