man, i wish i had drawn this... it's from an obscure Soul mag from '68. any of you in Houston or Austin who are, like myself, too young to have seen James Brown in his prime should check this show out. Sugarman 3 are straight up funky 68 soul sound--no corny modern bits. Lee Fields is the real deal. He cut some singles starting in the late 60's...a truly raw soul singer who's still got his chops!
