So you're saying if I wanted to do a poster where it's an image and text at the top I shouldn't because Third Alert has already done it?
Or if I wanted to use something with a record I shouldn't because someone else already has. I'm sure I'm not the first, nor the last to have a bands name on a water tower, building, blah blah blah. And not, I don't think my work is derivative of others work. But, yes, I'm inspired by other designers just like anyone else.
You're missing the point. It's not just that this is strikingly similar to Crosshair's work. It's that it seems to be a recurring theme that your posters are all very similar to more successful posters by other designers and that you don't seem to be able to see that.
It looks like "trying to do what he does" is exactly what you did. I mean, it's thematically and stylistically the same. He also uses a diffusion technique.
Aside from the akimbo angle and the washed-out color palette how can you honestly say this is nothing like his work?
