i never go on gigposters before my morning coffee!! hahaha
seriously all good - the last two X posters I did were hand-drawn and it's funny at the show Exene was like "I never smile like this ever" haha - you can't win!!
Didn't mean to make a scene either bro - I'm a fan of your work and your insights.
I don't have time on my hands, I can only do posters now for bands I love, and I love X with a passion. I'm not worried about copyright issues, this is a homage, much like 50% of the posters on this site. I worked at Marvel for quite awhile and know the line.
With posters, who is really to say what the line is? I have had posters up here that I have drawn 100% and designed 100% and seen them stripped of text and relaid out - bummed me out, and also flattered me.
I feel I have to defend myself too - this is the original it is based off of: X-Men #39 - I re-drew all their faces to match the band and made many other changes, tweaks and custom parts here that might not be obvious on first glance.
I just wanted to make something that the band and hopefully the fans at Iriving that night would dig - hope I acheive that -
talk soon Perkins
You have too much time on your hands if you're spending it checking on my past comments....Not enough time on your hands if you can't actually spend it designing something instead of just putting the band name on a comic. I wasn't going to say anything else, but now you've called me out. You know Marvel is in New York, right? Don't you think you might be opening up a can of copyright worms that the band will have to answer for? I honestly don't mean any offense despite the fact that I'm calling it as I see it. I definitely think this is clever, just risky...and not just for you.
