Nadine Y. NakanishiSend Nadine Y. Nakanishi a message :   what a data entry!   2011-01-30 14:17:29
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   I fondly remember the dried loogie stalagtite that hung from a cieling tile above the stage for about eight years. Pure essence of punk right there.   2011-01-27 17:51:17
deadmeatSend deadmeat a message :   hahahaha dan, although your points are dead on, i always looked forward to being told to "get the fuck out" and then a cloud of Ultra Light smoke blown in my face... ah to be young and stupid.   2011-01-27 17:42:12
FranciscoSend Francisco a message :   I did door for 95% of those shows. Hammer brought a certain lovable touch of hate to each and every show.   2011-01-27 09:57:58
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   Josh- If by true delight you mean he wore his contempt for each and every one if us on his face and displayed it through his actions and with every flutelike utterance of his weird little voice, despite years of being tipped generously, then yes, Hammer was a true delight.   2011-01-27 09:52:19
johnnySend johnny a message :   Zach, what band were you in?   2011-01-27 08:52:40
boatdreamsSend boatdreams a message :   I don't think I ever saw a roll of toilet paper in those bathrooms. Ever.   2011-01-27 08:13:58
deadmeatSend deadmeat a message :   Dan, I hope your joking, Hammer is a true delight... I'd say the bathrooms.   2011-01-27 07:56:45
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   That was a sad day, but all things must end. And lest we remember an idealized past rather than the whole, let's remember all of the things that sucked about the Fireside too.
I'll start... Hammer.

deadmeatSend deadmeat a message :   Dan you are correct about Crudos there! It broke my heart in 2004 when it stopped being a dump punk club and stopped doing shows and tried to be legit.   2011-01-26 13:50:30
boatdreamsSend boatdreams a message :   I was seventeen when my old band played there for the first time, and being on that stage was kinda surreal.   2011-01-26 12:58:10
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   It wasn't impossible for a good but relatively unknown band that wasn't in the Cool Club yet, to get on a bill at the Fireside. Unlike other venues I could mention. And so, loads of kickass bands played there early in their careers, and kept coming back as they got better-known.   2011-01-26 12:50:12
Zach HobbsSend Zach Hobbs a message :   we played there like 3 times in 2000 and 2001. Was fun.   2011-01-26 12:50:04
andydieselSend andydiesel a message :   every band that toured must've played that place. I've sent a million orders there to touring bands.   2011-01-26 12:30:42
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   Los Crudos at the Fireside = easily the best HC show(s) I have ever seen.   2011-01-26 11:56:59
boatdreamsSend boatdreams a message :   This one's a bit before my time. Man, to have been born four or five years earlier! I've got a bunch of these, too. Every time we went to a show at the Fireside, we'd always hit the shoe counter first to see the show listings.   2011-01-26 11:43:16
bathroom monkeySend bathroom monkey a message :   so many awesome shows. i wish i grew up in chicago.   2011-01-26 09:28:37
deadmeatSend deadmeat a message :   i have hundreds of these and i intend to document every one. even the ones with sublime and no doubt at the fireside....   2011-01-26 01:25:43
kylewbakerSend kylewbaker a message :   Wow. Get back to work! Right after you tell me where I can join the vulva club.   2011-01-26 00:32:36
El Negro Magnifico!Send El Negro Magnifico! a message :   Yeah, you've gotta be commended for that. I've seen so many festival posters uploaded here where names are skipped. Good on ya!   2011-01-26 00:23:39
soupsandwichSend soupsandwich a message :   can't believe you listed every single band! amazing   2011-01-25 23:39:49
