Yeah, of course it was a straight rip-off. Yes, I normally wouldn've redrawn/altered it but considering this was a "quickie" job, it was created more towards function rather than self-pleasing artistic merit. It grabbed peoples attention and pulled 100+ people to the gig. Keep in mind, the city I lived in (Monterey, CA) has only 30,000 people and most of them are stuck-up, pretentious assholes. So exposing them to one of Frank Millers classics by throwing it on a flyer/poster and printing out 600+ copies, is much more satisfying than the usual bullshit. Besides, it's punk rock, baby! :mrgreen:
I wasn't going for the geek angle - more of the "all knowing comic encyclopedia guy". There's nothing wrong with having a wealth of knowledge on one of the most important parts of American pop culture. It's okay Rob...just say to yourself..."It's okay to love comics and be a man" then go buy your kid some comics - and DUDE - take 'em out of the bag...the kid could suffocate!
