I think that white circle should be at least 40" in diameter on a 8/5 x 11 sheet...but then again I never really seem to know much about this design stuff.

i can see that, bradley. although, it does kinda fit my own aesthetic. funny, though, the final version looks even more "label sanctioned," i put their logo on it after some communication with mark ohe at matador (very cool guy, i might add). i ended up grabbing the wrong jpeg for this site. doh!

i don't think it's too balanced - most of the visuals associated with the band up to this point have had the same kind of symmetry. i think it's gorgeous, but i think it kinda lacks a personal touch - it looks too much an official label-sanctioned piece.
that's not to take anything away from it though. like i said, it's beautiful. =)

the "X" didn't bother me. actually, i thought it was a nice result of the overlaying, mirrored images. the mirrored images, for me, reflect the tone and structure of the guitar parts on the record.
