to stick the tin foil down. It works.
I'm about half way through printing these. The text and the GW are screened onto paper bages and next I gotta screen a layer of glue and stick all the Mary images that I xeroxed and tore up tothe bags. Then I'll loop thread from her to the godspeed letters. Then it's done! edition of 50...
"Does your mother sew?...BANG!... well get her to sew THAT!!!"
Yeah, and we got Brian Ewing too!!! one time I was driving Brian some place and some dude ran into the back of my car with his truck... and Brian like was all like, "WHAT THE FUCK!!" and was like getting out and shit...I thought he was gonna start dropping bombs on this dude. I had to like talk him down and shit. it was nuts. I'd advise anybody to NOT fuck with Brian Ewing. For your own health. He's from Milwaukee you know.
Tell ya what richie, I'll screen all the elements except the thread and have them all waiting. When you and yer girlfriends fisher and murphy get to Austin we'lll have a sewing circle and put it all together. Deal?
Holy Coco™!!! This rocks. This is an inspiration to break out of our usual methods and get back to experimentation. I want one in the worst way. Great job!
yep some elements are sewn. The godspeed was printed out , cut out and sewn to the mary statue pic which was printed and torn up. then that was scanned. That was printed again and GW was printed, torn up and sewn to that sheet. That was scanned. The you black emperor was sewn to a sheet of paper then scanned and added. the brown background was a found piece of grocery sack which was scanned and the whole thing put together. Then the show info text was printed and scanned over and over to distress and viola! right now it's 11x17 but I'm working on an interesting way to screen print it and keep some of the 3-d elements.
ahh, there it is.. i heard yancey did this whole poster. i heard she's really the one who does all the work. she's the 28th factor...oh..and good job guys. doesn't look like most of your other stuff. i really really like it.
