RichieGoodtimesSend RichieGoodtimes a message :   The truly amazing thing is that EMO kids have no sense of the irony in their own scene.   2003-02-18 12:04:05
PediniSend Pedini a message :   I've been into Celtic Frost from a long time ago. In fact, I had their album before they were CF. Anybody know what they were called? Winner gets a cockroach sandwich!   2003-02-18 12:00:09
seripopSend seripop a message :   what most retarded kids don't see is that metal and hardcore is the same fucking thing.   2003-02-18 11:58:31
seripopSend seripop a message :   holy shit! if frost tour i HAVE to do a poster. somewghere at my mom's place are pics of me as a 14 year old hesher with feathered black hair, skintight black jeans with zipper at the ankles and a series of celtic frost and iron maiden shirts. often with a skiddy mulleted boyfriend. then i got intojoy division and my world changed.   2003-02-18 11:56:02
Dusty!Send Dusty! a message :   by the way, there is rumored to by a celtic frost reunion album out in late '03.   2003-02-18 11:52:10
Dusty!Send Dusty! a message :   are we talkin bout metal?!
anything from the megadeth catalog pre '94 should be labeled as classic and essential. killing... is my business... and business... is gooooooooood.

ShawnySend Shawny a message :   run dmc represent!!   2003-02-18 11:47:33
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   haha! nice.   2003-02-18 11:47:13
seripopSend seripop a message :   i'm into most metal in general the 80's stuff i like just cause it's the music i cut my teeth on, that and run dmc but i mostly prfer 70's stuff or euro stuff can't mess with norway   2003-02-18 11:46:45
RichieGoodtimesSend RichieGoodtimes a message :   I love all the bands you mentioned. But hey, let her bring it on.   2003-02-18 11:43:45
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   i'm talking more the real classic rock/metal ironic listening - sabbath, ac/dc, thin lizzy, motorhead, led zeppelin, rolling stones, slayer, etc...that music means so much to me that i hate it when people take it fact, it blows my mind that anyone would.
i'm less about 80's metal, but there are a ton of bands from that era that deserve more than to have an indie kid wear a shirt of them as a joke. in my opinion. i think chloe is more about the 80's metal than me, so she'll probably let you have it.
  2003-02-18 11:42:47
RichieGoodtimesSend RichieGoodtimes a message :   Speaking as someone who actually saw the 'metal' scene in Hollywood at it's high (or low, depending who you ask) in Hollywood in the 80s whit my own eyes, I would like to affirm that there is a great deal of irony there.   2003-02-18 11:38:34
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   yeah? awesome!!
honestly, "the rocker" is pretty much my favourite song nowadays. phil lynott was incredible. there's definately some thin lizzy albums i stay away from, but the good ones are INCREDIBLY good!!
and yeah, some people do like to get their nuts crushed.
  2003-02-18 11:33:48
Brendan JordanSend Brendan Jordan a message :   I'm still not sure whether or not I like what they did to "Whiskey In The Jar," but I think Thin Lizzy was pretty cool all around.   2003-02-18 11:32:13
philaarts.comSend a message :   dont just bite em for free chloe.. people pay for that shit nowadays..
my buddy mentioned that some guys are into having their nuts kicked by women too... that is like a double bonus for women out there!
  2003-02-18 11:31:03
seripopSend seripop a message :   dude our guitarist is OBSESED with thin lizzy he has EVERYTHING they have ever record. i like em alot too but mike is like NUTS for them.   2003-02-18 11:30:21
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   yeah...the worst one is thin lizzy. i LOVE that band, and it seems that they are a joke to everyone.   2003-02-18 11:28:41
seripopSend seripop a message :   um. i meen people who think metal and classic rock are ironic need to be bit in the face. all the time i get these hipster indie rock kids comming up to me all like "ohhh i rteally like your band. you guys are so crazy. what do u listen too?" and i'm all like " slayer, queen, ccr, beefheart, sabbath, zepplin, dillenger, celtic frost" and they are all "ha ha that's funny. what do u REALLY listen too?"   2003-02-18 11:26:43
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   hehe...yeah, but she's right. everytime i play an ac/dc song or tell people that they are my favourite band, i get these smirks and laughs...the indie kids just don't respect the rock n' roll like they should.   2003-02-18 11:26:22
gun shoSend gun sho a message :   "people who think metal or classic rock is ironic need to be bit in the face."

Brendan JordanSend Brendan Jordan a message :   I wish seripop would just come out and say what she means every once in a while!   2003-02-18 11:20:56
seripopSend seripop a message :   people who think metal or classic rock is ironic need to be bit in the face.   2003-02-18 11:19:17
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   danzig's "mother." aka the best "mother."
ironic rock is the worst thing in the world. actually, the one thing that's worse is non-ironic rock taken as ironic.
  2003-02-18 11:11:44
Brendan JordanSend Brendan Jordan a message :   That's where I begin to have no expertise   2003-02-18 11:08:41
FinchSend Finch a message :   ...or Danzig's "Mother"?   2003-02-18 11:05:37
Brendan JordanSend Brendan Jordan a message :   Was it a cover of Pink Floyd's "Mother, or John Lennon's "Mother?" Pretty good either way, Lennon a bit better.
  2003-02-18 10:51:50
seripopSend seripop a message :   there were alot of covers i hate indie rock kids they thought the deep purple was meant to be ironic "yes, music was invented in 1992" -slap_   2003-02-18 10:50:25
ShawnySend Shawny a message :   i heard dfa played a cover of "mother," which instantly makes them my new favourite band.   2003-02-18 10:48:56
seripopSend seripop a message :   this show kicked ass but now i got serious metal neck. i need a neck brace to wear after playing- metal neck sucks the serious shit.   2003-02-18 10:24:06
SashSend Sash a message :   yeah, the lightning is like the icing on the cake. it's like... a bolt from the blue.   2003-02-03 16:59:52

BryanSend Bryan a message :   This is really good. me likey   2003-02-01 18:00:29
stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   Thanks for the explanation Yannick. It feels like an afterthought which is why I questioned it needing to be there. It's a fine design either way just preference.   2003-02-01 17:08:16
gun shoSend gun sho a message :   it's better with the bolt. it compliments the typography placement in the upper right-hand corner.   2003-02-01 16:01:05
seriplopSend seriplop a message :   yannick here. the bolt was actually added after the whole thing was done, in order to re-direct the viewers eyes abit, create an oppositional diagonal to the black and white form's. It happens sometimes that we think our stuff twice. And it does make sense.
also, it somewhat needed a pun, just to distract from the emo quality of the b&w drawing, wich was turning me off a bit.
  2003-02-01 15:57:02
stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   I really like everything but the transparent bolt. It's distracting and doesn't seem to add anything. Poster would be awesome without it.   2003-02-01 15:23:14
HYNESSend HYNES a message :   Bit too messy and muddy for my taste, but it is unique looking. it kind of reminds me of drawings done by autistic children, as in it looks naive at first glance, but masks a deeper form of substance and order. Hmm, does that even make sense? maybe i'm autistic.   2003-02-01 15:05:43
DWITTSend DWITT a message :   Holy smokes. Nice.   2003-02-01 12:09:42

GrzecaSend Grzeca a message :   Cool- love those brushes. Working on a Dodo for a poster right now.   2003-02-01 08:38:48
gun shoSend gun sho a message :   this is beautiful. fucking great.   2003-02-01 08:37:15
seripopSend seripop a message :   dan- this was mostly done with brushes and speedball pens we like to slop the ink! dave- yannick and i both do tasks on each poster we do for instance on this i did the original illo of the spiral cloud in pen and ink and then yannick added more spirals, thicker lines in and filled alot of the white spaces and added the lightning bolts pretty much everything we do we pass it back and forth untill we get something that is sufficently nuts.   2003-02-01 08:15:58
philaarts.comSend a message :   when you do a poster, how much is yannnnnnick and how much is seripop?
  2003-02-01 08:00:36
GrzecaSend Grzeca a message :   Really great - reminds me of the things I loved about some of RAW artists from the 80's- scratchy, strong ink, painterly. Nice!   2003-02-01 07:50:02
