Pat. James LongoSend Pat. James Longo a message :   Wow! I am so happy I found this. Charles Burn is the greatest artist to ever dip a brush into india ink. I wish he did more posters. Easily one of the biggest influences on me. Love this poster. Just came across a box with a bunch of RAW mag stuff in it the other night. I didn't know he went to school with all those other people that is great.   2004-03-05 12:40:50

art chantrySend art chantry a message :   charles burns used to live in the nw around '80 (he went to evergreen with bruce pavitt and lynda barry and matt groening and a buncha other folks who became major players.) he did those early subpop cassette covers (for the 'subterranean pop' 'zine that was bruce's first precursor to a column in the rocket and a radio show on kcmu and eventually to record label success).
charles burns did maybe three or four diferent punk flyers in seattle around that time - i think all for the skinny ties. i don't know what his connection was to the band.
the boren street was a gay disco.
