This is awe inspiring! Not the best scalping I've seen. That goes to the guy who drove his convertable under a semi and left his brain in his Reds hat.
If I look at this for a moment, i can feel myself getting lightheaded. I could make myself pass-out if i kept staring at it!!!
I have a Brujera 7" that has some gore on it...same thing.
I would never make it as a doctor, policeman, ambulance driver, or fireman.
This poster still rules. This is all just a part of life and death in the world. This stuff happens everyday all over the place. It's good to see it every now and again. Reminds you of how very fragile we are.
Haha!! Yeah, he did! But what I meant was, that on the posters for my Unsane show, I would like to have the violence and gore either implied or abstracted, in order to make the average person on the street or in a record store try to figure out what it is they are looking at then be disturbed by it later. That's more effective to me. But I do think Jared did an awesome job on these though that's for sure. It would make me want to go to the show. Especially with that lineup. The Fuck Emo's too? Shit yeah!! Just as a promoter, and someone who has final say in the posters domne for my shows, I'd like to see a more subtle approach, that's all. The ones made for my show by Stephen Banes have been submitted and will be up soon. These are still badass though.
Holy!!!! Ok, not a lot makes me kind of squemish, but this does. This is even more brutal than the other one you did. It does totally work for them though Just images like this might be so unsettling that it might scare people away from going. I'm bringing them here to St.Louis 3 days later. Have no idea what the poster that is being made is going to look like. I'm hoping for something that captures the brutality of their music like these two did, but I want it to hit on a more cerebral level than a visceral one. But these totally nailed that!!
I have the first Carcass on vinyl. The one with the cover full of autopsy photos. They censored it and re-released it without the gore later. It sits in my collection but I never pull it out because I can't stop looking at the collage of death.

I know I am adding to this...but I can't wait till we stop talking about it so I don't have to see it anymore...very disturbing...it does get my attention and work with the band...but I think it is awful...so good job...sick...
Damn Jared, you go through a lot of trouble to get the RIGHT photo, don't you! Errrr... I'm gonna have to cancel our plans to meet by the train tracks tonight... something suddenly came up.
