Thank you very much.
This poster will always have a special place in my heart.
First poster for Dillinger Four, one of my favorite bands, and the reason today I'm so wild about local music. Those guys rock (though later I was told that this show was one of the worst they'd ever played, but it was the first time I'd seen them live. After having seen them several times since, it was kinda lackluster, but still awesome)
This poster also impressed them (one of the guys from the band owns the Triple Rock with his wife, two others work there) enough so that I got to do all those early flyers for the Triple Rock when it opened, which is largely why so many people know my work now, I just cranked it out for about a year.
PLUS, the current girl I am seeing was also at this show way back (didn't know her then), and has had this poster on her wall since. She has great taste.
and skulls with cake are always nice.
looking through the randoms and i saw this and my jaw dropped to the floor. this is one of the best poster i have ever seen. dwitt has such skill. i will never be this good but i'm glad someone is. thank god for this boy's place in poster art!

This past Friday, Song of Zarathustra decided to call it quits. It has been a troublesome year for the band and individually. So, we all agreed that this is a good time to say goodbye.
Last night was my first one, so it was cool they let me do the poster.
I am a little worried. Paddy said "This is our last show", but he was wasted all night. But then today Song of Zarathustra tells me the poster I'm doing for them will be THEIR last show. I wonder if I'm the band killer?
I bought a region-free DVD (Lasonic) from these guys...

It's region-free, macrovision-free, plays NTSC and PAL, and portable. Best thing I bought at Akon 13.

Synapse just released Radley Metzger's "The Image" on DVD. Some how this has slipped through the censor cracks. It's a 70's X hardcore S&M flick with 2 golden scenes! You can buy the damn thing for 19.99 at Borders and Best Buy!!! I guess they don't know what they are selling yet.
Man, I saw a great one last night on DVD (Anchor Bay $14.99) called Hitch Hike. Made in 1977, and never picked up for the states. It's a gritty, violent, desert, road movie. And there's a fantastic score with a twangy guitar that accompanies it. The plot follows an unhappily married couple who pick up a disturbed hitch-hiker played remarkably well by David Hess (Last House on the Left / House By the Edge of The Park). Franco Nero (Django / Bullet for The Genral) kicks ass as the greedy alcoholic husband. There is some ultra coll violence, an ugly tone, and best off: Corinne Clery (Story of O) Naked! Alot! I'm talking Bush!!!! Great violent twist ending too.
alright guys, give me a list of movies I need to see.
I bet I've have seen a sad few. Since most of my drawings take the gross angle, I'd like more inspiration.

hey, i might not know` a whole lot of important things, but i know a good deal about b movies. not like, jimbo though...THAT dude is like, way outta my league.
Speaking of Goad's viewing habits, have you seen Carpenters the THING yet? How you made it into your later twenties without seeing that is inconcievable.
Thanks all, though I know not of the movie you speak. I watch Moulin Rouge every evening...
I'm planning on painting my next poster or two. Screen printing comes at the end of Jan. I want to do it all, and eat my cake too.
this is pretty damn good...I bet it would look just insane with a Robschwager color treatment.
Really nice perspective in the main illustration...In my head I am saying...that looks like a real cake with real icing and a reals skull with real worms and real tentacles coming out from the cake with real candied letters on top that show some real volume....its good maeng!
