I find I can differentiate between colours fine when they're not close to one another. But mix a lot of different hues up in close proximity and my brain has problems (I still cannot play Risk because I can't tell where my pieces are). I'm thinking it's more like "colour dyslexia" than "blindness" in many ways.
Yep - im R/G colourblind and i can see the image clearly. This is either a made up representation or a test for a different type of colourblindness. I'll give the benefit of the doubt before i say fail.
Also - its not a question of seeing reds and greens or of them looking the same - i can differentiate both easily. Its a little more complicated and comes down to tonality and values of colours. When the tonal values are similar then the colours can become confusing. Ink pigments and application (paper vs plastic vs computer screen etc) also have major effects on how the colour is viewed. I make most of my posters blue.
It's weird, sometimes they look the same (red and green). But no, I don't see "through" them. It's hard to describe, and frustrating at times. Especially at traffic lights.
