I have about 200 hats in my collection. Wear any one of 'em just about every day. I'm a hat guy. What Hero did tied right into the whole hat thing. But you have to be a hat guy to get it. Just sayin' (or agreein').
My son wears flat brim hats and leaves the sticker on. he has an obsession with them. I think he has like, 10 different hats of different teams in all different colors.
Me, I gotta take the sticker off and curve the brim. But, I'm old. Here in LA you can get Dodgers caps with the different LA area codes. Still trying to find a black on black 818 that fits right.
is black on black a technique that can really be a worn out idea. seems like a legitimate visual design tool. sort of like saying how using letters to form words is played out.
2nd Velvet Underground album "White Light/White Heat" had a black on black photo of a skull tattoo and that was '68.. LoL lots of people never noticed it 'parently
just because you have your cultural myopia (if i haven't seen it before, it must be new and "gangsta"), doesn't mean it's new or "gangsta", paul. black on black has been around forever. i was doing black on black stuff back in the early eighties (tshirts, hats, records, posters) and it was considered an old worn out idea THEN.
open up yer eyes and THINK, paul gardner.
are you willing to participate? then shut up and dance.
sometimes a stupid hat is just a stupid hat.
i wear a dirty stocking cap all day. it smells bad and is frayed. i think there's bird poop on the top. i wear it all day because i don't have any heat in my studio. my head sweats into it. gross.
i think that's cool. i don't think going to the store to buy the latest fashion crap is cool. but then, i take great pride in being uncool. i built my whole career on being totally uncool.
i like it.
hats with flat brims get the bozack. turn it to the side and stick a sucker in your mouth and complete the perfect douche outfit.
west side walk it out.
