THEYSend THEY a message :   Hello, I'd like to buy this poster for my girlfriend. She loves the band, was at the show, loves Aesthetic Apparatus and it's her 30th Birthday.
I could spend up to $100 on it. Do any of you have one you'd be willing to sell or know where I could track on down?
Thanks, Clinton Lugert of THEY-design.com

stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   I used a skate board to move a neighbor down the street. He lived across from the house with the half pipe. He passed out so we carried him and his bed out of his house, put him on the skate board and pushed him to the end of the block. Then carried him and the bed upstairs and left him on that neighbor's balcony with a "please adopt my boy I can't care for him anymore" note. he said he woke up the next morning thinking he was on a dock above the lake. He held on to his bed for fear of rolling off into the water. Said it took him 20 minutes to figger out he was only six houses down the street.   2002-12-13 18:14:31

MaximumFluorideSend MaximumFluoride a message :   my vert career ended when I hung up on fakie ollie over the channel. Woke up an hour later on my front porch. I had apprently rode my bike home 3 miles and didn't remember a damn thing. Concussion, dislocated shoulder, torn ligaments in that shoulder, and a dislocated knee cap. all I was waering were knee pads. no helmet. 11 foot drop and my head connected with the flat bottom. I lost all my nerve after that. So I started skating street. I hurt myself way more often and worse skating street.
o.k. enough crying about injuries.

stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   I've had three surgerys on the same acl. Got two titanium screws holding it together now. Although I dicked it up playing basketball there's no way I'd get on a board now. I could have bought a NICE car or two for the cash dropped on this knee. I've cut off a finger and put out my eye but the torn ACL is the worst pain I've ever had. Not going back there.
I did build a half - pipe in my back yard with stolen construction site wood when I was in college. And Factor27 donated a shitload of wood to a fifth grade clas so they could build a skate park at their school. I'll post the thank you letter when we get it. Points anyone?

jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   I had my fair share of fun at the Houston Skatepark where SUAS was held on the Kahuna ramp...14' with 3' of vert and a cement flatbottom...gave Craig Johnson a concussion during the SUAS where he looked like he would win, then slam! rear truck hang up to concussion, bye bye...Craig, Jeff Phillips and John Gibson were my Heroes...I wish Jeff was still around, he grew some great dope!   2002-12-13 17:17:58
MaximumFluorideSend MaximumFluoride a message :   I'll put San Jose and San Francisco up against any skate town. Although soCal is really good as well. Too hot in Texas. I'd hate to skate in that humid nightmare. Kids these days are so spoiled. There are skateparks everywhere. They don't know from the skate park drought in the 80's and 90's.
I'm going to go visit Tidwell this summer in Louiseville. 2nd biggest skatepark in North America. Calgary has the biggest and I bet Clay doesn't even skate.

jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   ok, so you skated on a K-Mart special while you were 10...kewl...my point was I got turned onto MOB (who was playing in 79 - check their site) and many other of the punk/skate rock bands through skateboaring and the lifestyle including the likes of both THRASHER and TRANSWORLD...Austin was a nice place to be a skater as we had LoneStar skatepark...across from the Arboretum that is now a Home Depot...but now Austin has 2 or 3 skateparks...anyway, there is more Seattle in your library than the rest of Austin combined...your a grunge man...just admit it.   2002-12-13 17:04:14

jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   when I say 'perfect' I mean that to me it hits on every point I would expect...not like superhuman beyond all else...just the best that could have been done at that particular time...and as far as that goes ya'll stay perfect most of the time...keep it up! also glad you appreciated that comments.   2002-12-13 16:11:25
jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   they don't even have cement in Oklahoma...quit skating in '78..so you skated and listened to MOB until you were 10 and then quit...uhhhhmmmm.   2002-12-13 16:09:04
stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   "eoff (stinkbait) didn't grow up as a skater listening to Mission of Burma and the Faction and JFA etc., nah" you so crazy. I grew up with the Burma. I quit skating in 78 when I moved to the country and startted dirt biking. Still had music... punk!   2002-12-13 16:05:28

DWITTSend DWITT a message :   Well, I don't think this is perfect. I think perfect would be if it were on a greyish paper. A light cool grey. Of course one mans perfect is another's shit sandwich (I am not calling this a shit sandwich. This is a 5 meat hoagie with loads of mayo and cheese).
I was bummed to miss this show, cause I dig Arcwelder. Don't know MOB. My loss I guess.

jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   geoff (stinkbait) didn't grow up as a skater listening to Mission of Burma and the Faction and JFA etc., nah - he was stuck on Oklahoma dreeaming of Seattle and everything grunge...soooo. It is a good poster and my only point was that my vision would be almost impossible because I would be too close to what I think would be 'them'...read my first post...I mentioned that, jeesh.
Volant = perfect Imperial Teen = perfect Jonathan Richman = perfect The Ataris = perfect
just to name a few.

PediniSend Pedini a message :   Honest critiques are good, I'm just a fan of this poster... biased. MOB is faster to type than Mission of Burma. MOB rules! Those old farts!   2002-12-13 15:52:46
jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   whatever biped ;) - I had q nice an cordial, and honest I might add, critique...I thought that's what people wanted...hey since you used MOB instead of Mission of Burma, does that mean you know them 'better' ? ;)   2002-12-13 15:50:02
PediniSend Pedini a message :   Damn Jason, ease up on this poster, it is awesome! And I'm a big MOB fan myself. My old band in RI opened for Binary System a few times, great guys, great music.   2002-12-13 15:47:31
stinkbaitSend stinkbait a message :   spoon poster was perfect. I think this was real nice and it said MOB to me. Plastk is a curmudgeon   2002-12-13 15:47:19
jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   well aren't you modest ;) ...you have made quite a few 'perfect' posters for sure...and it is funny and I am sure they liked it...its real nice...success is definately had when the band likes it and the venue likes it so for that ya'll have done good, kudo's!   2002-12-13 15:40:04
Michael ApparatusSend Michael Apparatus a message :   Plastk. Yep, sounds like your a lot closer to the band than we were. I knew their music and loved it...I hadn't really studied it though. The guitars strings were actually supposed to represent the frantic energy of the music. Roger Miller said he loved it and thought the poster was hilarious and Clint Conley said he was going to frame it when he got home. So, it would seem the band liked it and that makes us pretty damn happy.
Perfect? Nope, never made a perfect poster before. Probably never will.
  2002-12-13 15:34:12
jasoncrossSend jasoncross a message :   Interesting - I love AA's work and like this poster aesthetically speaking but am also a HUGE Mission of Burma fan from way back and I dont think this really gets their vibe.
Sure, the lead guitarist blew his ears out and wears headphones when he plays now...but that had nothing to do with their music...he just never wore earplugs...he now plays piano instead for his own band the Binary System...which I recommend highly.
The revolver taps the whole,"That's when I reach for my revolver," But Mission of Burma is more than anything about social consciousness...thinking about the effects of modern social constructs and their effect...much deeper...Then again, I may just be too close to this band to give anyone a fair chance outside of making a 'perfect' poster...this is good, just not perfect in my mind.
