so overprintting is careless?
what a tard.
this poster is cool and this "if a newb did it" comments are pretty much the lamest , most passive aggressive , cowardly way to diss someone.
haha. speaking of funny critiques. I just got this myspace message from some random dude that went out of his way to tell me that a t-shirt that I made suxxx.. hahahah
ahem:
"your danimal artist is not a good printer
i am by no means a master printer or anything like that, but his halloween shirt sucks. there are two characteristics that i immediately saw as amateur mistakes; the pink not quite lining up with the black (this is called registration. it's the 'hard part' when one learns to print by hand).
#2 is the pink being layered over the black. The other 'hard part' of printing is making negative space where a light color goes over a black color, such that they don't create a haze. i see that danimal uses his artistic ability quite wisely here; he is like a sculptor declaring his unfired, shapeless mudpiles art nouveau because he's bad at operating his kiln.
now, perhaps this is part of the artistic appeal of the shirt, but any printer would see these not just as obviously avoidable simple mistakes, but plain carelessness."
I love this thing a LOT! i had some weird banana drawings laying around, pushed me to put them in the thing i'm working on. i am liking this one more than the last few you've done. I like how it is unabashadly collagey, and the eye with the tear give it good movement. it has more motion than a lot of yr other stuff. which isn't a bad thing..it's just less stable looking, which is more interesting to me.
well. I would imagine that it'd be hard to critique someone/ or some group who is better than nearly everyone. i only give bad crits on stuff that I a ABSOLUTELY sure that it is way worse than my own stuff. so...having no feedback probably means that people are meh about it, but that nothing is really wrong about it.
The only reason I ask is because when people don't like certain posters we do (which is plenty often) they just ignore them. And I'd rather somebody actively dislike something than ignore it.
I actually totally disagree with that statement. I think it'd probably commented a bit less...but this is strong. and lots of more new, less strong stuff appears on here and lots of people comment on it. take my stuff for example. haha
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good poster, and you guys are one of my favorite groups of designers - I was just agreeing that I could see that happening.
yes. I do like. all the text is ggggreat! I think that it is like other AA posters. They have a collage streak for sure. it reminds me of that daniel johnston one for sure. way to go. The next time I pay you to use yr paper cutter, I'll have to take a peek at one if real life. You guys are the best! XO
