Thanks for the kind words and comments, everyone. There's a "Calvin and Hobbes" I kind of had in mind for this illustration. For those of you who know the strip, it's the one where Calvin is imagining that he's climbing a giant slide way up into the sky and above the clouds.

Ugh... Well, I can't defend the similarities, and this is admittedly only my third gig poster. I like Jay Ryan's stuff, but I never wanted to directly imitate his (or anyone's) style. I definitely feel lame about this, though.

agreed to all of the below. wether it "is" or "isn't" doesn't really matter anymore. what is becoming clear is that jay has become a huge influence on a generation of new artists. that's pretty damn cool. if i ever got the time i'd dig to try and do a poster "ryan-esque".

Wow. Colors, type styling, imagery - this all feels very Jay Ryan to me.
