aha! i think i know where the inspiration for this came from... you originally had an X over the typewriter... as in "you are not my typewriter" from "war on war". am i right? beeeyootyful poster, too. looks even better in real life on my wall too. ha ha.
I like this poster a lot more than the show.
Well, Orlando has now seen 2 shows with designers selling show posters. I wonder if people will come to expect it.
Wow. Crazy.
We did a bunch of Wilco tour poster designs for Nonesuch...but the project was killed. Maybe it was someone from the band's management that had seen the options we did.
I dunno.
selling these last night, some guy came up and asked if aestheic apparatus printed this poster. i'll certainly take that as a compliment. you guys have a rep all the way down here in fucked up orlando.
Man...what a great poster, I'm going to see these guys tonight...their new album is a masterpiece...blew me away...they've had an evolution of sorts...kind of like what happened to Flaming Lips or Radiohead. Darwin rules.
I like it too. . .clean, thought out, graphic designy. . .nice colors and ummmmm.....smart way of throwin the band name on there without gettin in the way of great imagery. . . .good body
of work.
i gotta give credit to thomas scott of eyenoise here. i showed him an early version of this. the typewriter had an "X" over it (insprired by an image from the trashlog.org site). he said "i'm not so sure about the "X" on the typewriter. i think i'd set it on fire." so i did. i liked the results. thanks, t.
I love the colors too... and the design is solid. I ain't no fan of the band, but this their vibe.
Not sure what your day job is, but I hope that you enter this piece in some competitions.
